1. Keep your hand moving like a pendulum

Your strumming hand should keep a solid back and forth rocking motion. No matter what pattern you’re playing. If you look like a robot then you’re doing it wrong.

2. Don’t tense up your strumming hand.

Keep it loose like your shaking water off your hand.

3. Partial strums are GOOD

Don’t aim to hit ALL the strings with every strum. Usually a partial strum is better.

I always think of strumming all 6 strings as playing WITH THE CAPS LOCK ON. You still need capital letters every now and again though. ☺️

4. Listen to the groove and SING

If you can sing a pattern then you’re 80% of the way there.
